以促進東亞知性創意與學術交流為目的所成立的國際研究型大學聯盟，現在有六所日本大學（京都大學、大阪大學、東北大學、東京工業大學、東京大學及筑波大學）、五所中國大學（復旦大學、南京大學、北京大學、清華大學及中國科學技術大學）、四所韓國大學（韓國科學技術院、浦項工科大學、首爾大學及延世大學）、三所台灣大學（國立臺灣大學、國立清華大學及國立陽明交通大學）、一所香港大學（香港科技大學），共19所大學會員，每年固定有會員總會及理事會的大型會議及不定期舉辦學術活動等交流。
The International Alliance of Research Universities, established to promote intellectual creativity and academic exchange in East Asia, currently comprises 19 member universities: six Japanese universities (Kyoto University, Osaka University, Tohoku University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, University of Tokyo, and University of Tsukuba), five Chinese universities (Fudan University, Nanjing University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and University of Science and Technology of China), four South Korean universities (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Seoul National University, and Yonsei University), three National Taiwan universities (National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Yang-Ming National Chiao Tung University), and one University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). The alliance holds annual large-scale meetings of its General Assembly and Council, as well as occasional academic activities and exchanges.
為東南亞與臺灣各大學間之常態性國際文教組織，透過每兩年舉行一次的校長會議，以推動及促進東南亞與臺灣高等教育之合作交流與發展為宗旨。
It is a regular international cultural and educational organization between universities in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Through a biennial presidents' meeting, it aims to promote and facilitate cooperation, exchange and development of higher education in Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
其目的在於藉由「學生交換」及「學分承認」，加強國內大學院校與亞太地區各國高等教育機構的學術研究合作以及各大學間學生與教職員的交流。已有35個國家，並超過570所會員校，透過參與校之間的交換學生選送，及交換課程學分機制的轉換，增進亞太地區學生的國際競爭優勢。聯合研究計畫的目的在增加參與校之間的學術研究，促進彼此師生間的交流，達到亞太地區高等教育的提昇，進而增進國際意識。
Its purpose is to strengthen academic research cooperation between domestic universities and higher education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the exchange of students and faculty among universities, through student exchange and credit recognition. Currently, it has over 570 member institutions from 35 countries, enhancing the international competitiveness of Asia-Pacific students through student exchange programs and the conversion of exchange course credits. The joint research program aims to increase academic research among participating institutions, promote exchanges between faculty and students, improve higher education in the Asia-Pacific region, and ultimately enhance international awareness.
在教育部及英國文化協會（British Council）支持下，臺英大學聯盟（Taiwan-UK University Consortium）是由國立臺灣大學、國立臺灣師範大學、國立中山大學、國立清華大學，以及英國的愛丁堡大學（University of Edinburgh）、利物浦大學（University of Liverpool）、新堡大學（Newcastle University）、西蘇格蘭大學（University of the West of Scotland），總計8所大學於2023年簽署合作備忘錄，以拓展雙邊師生交流及實質學術研究合作，強化雙方淨零（Net Zero）排放目標、雙語教育政策目標。
With the support of the Ministry of Education and the British Council, the Taiwan-UK University Consortium was formed in 2023 by eight universities: National Taiwan University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Sun Yat-sen University, National Tsing Hua University, and the University of Edinburgh, University of Liverpool, Newcastle University, and University of the West of Scotland. The consortium aims to expand bilateral student and faculty exchanges and substantive academic research cooperation, and strengthen both sides' net-zero emissions goals and bilingual education policy objectives.
