Project Overview
To promote Chinese language education in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education of Taiwan has launched the "Taiwan Excellent Chinese Language Program," encouraging Taiwanese universities to establish "school-to-school" academic partnerships with top universities in Europe and America. The Ministry of Education also subsidizes Chinese language teachers and assistants selected by universities to teach abroad and provides scholarships to support international students studying Chinese in Taiwan, thereby promoting exchanges between teachers and students from both sides. It is hoped that through long-term cooperation, the program will enhance the awareness of the Taiwanese Chinese language brand among European and American teachers and students, promote the high-quality international learning environment of Taiwan's top universities, and increase the willingness of international students to study Chinese in Taiwan.

In addition to sending teachers and assistants overseas to teach Chinese, the program's medium- and long-distance learning objectives also include: jointly developing Chinese language teaching materials and online courses with partner schools, conducting online workshops, jointly promoting the Chinese Language Proficiency Test, organizing training programs for Chinese language teachers, and jointly establishing Chinese language centers.

Selected recipients of the Excellent Chinese Language Scholarship can immerse themselves in a Chinese-speaking environment, improve their Chinese language skills, and gain a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture and society. Furthermore, they will participate in English teaching in Taiwanese primary and secondary schools, promoting the "Big Hand Holding Little Hand" program. Our school has established cooperative relationships with teacher training centers, bilingual education research centers, and primary schools in Hsinchu, and will conduct English-language theater performances or introductory English courses to assist students in engineering, information technology, and other skills training, exploring the possibilities for developing professional knowledge and bilingual teaching.
