國立清華大學全球事務處 (Office of Global Affairs, OGA)的成立係為了促進跨國文化的學習研究，培養地球村成員彼此尊重與了解的開闊心胸，並扮演著國立清華大學與國際學生及教師之間的溝通及聯繫橋樑。具體來說，全球事務處使命為：協助國立清華大學邁向國際化、開拓同學們的國際觀及加強本校與國際知名大學的交流與合作。

為確實達成以上目標，全球事務處將：

• 積極安排國際知名研究機構與大學院校和本校簽訂學術合約，並致力推動合約後續合作相關業務。另外，亦與國際上著名的政府及企業界研究機構建立密切合作關係，推動特定領域之合作研究，使學術合作運作實質化，建立密切的合作關係與學術交流。期能透過加強國際合作而提昇國立清華大學在國際上之競爭力及學術地位，躋身國際一流大學。
• 協助本國籍學生申請交流獎學金，並在參訪學習過程中同時開拓國際知識眼界外，更推動各系所協助優秀學生參與學術交流及國際學生交換計畫，拓展國際視野和培養世界文化觀。
  
• 擴大招收優秀國際學生，為就學國立清華大學的國際學生提供全方位的課程、服務資訊，推廣台灣文化之學習，並協助學生達成學業和個人目標。

　　The purposes of the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) are to foster an environment of multi-cultural learning, to promote respect among members of the global village, and to forge a broader sense of understanding within the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) community of the differences among diverse peoples. The OGA also acts as the liaison office between NTHU and international students and scholars. Our mission is to help internationalize NTHU so that students are trained to serve their own society as well as the international community.

全球事務處簡史

國立清華大學的全球事務原先主要由秘書室與各單位各自辦理。1998年於教務處成立「國際及推廣教育組」，可說是行政單位統一全球事務之濫觴，但是僅限於學生教育相關事務。2000年研發處「學術合作組」正式成立，負責外賓訪客與國外校際間之聯繫與合約簽訂。此外秘書室國際事務中心亦負責了二組之外許多國際相關事務。2008年「國際事務處」成立，接手上述二組對外全球業務。教務處「國際及推廣教育組」改名為「推廣教育組」，研發處則取消「學術合作組」。2012年「國際事務處」改名為「全球事務處」迄今。

Brief History of OGA

　　The global affairs of NTHU were originally managed by the Office of the Secretary and each department separately. In 1998, the Division of International and Continuing Education of the Office of Academic Affairs was founded, which is the beginning for the administration offices to unify the global affairs, exclusively to student education related affairs. In 2000, the Division of Academic Cooperation of the Office of Research and Development was founded, responsible for the contact with foreign guests and the connect maintaining and contract signing with foreign schools. In addition to the Division of International and Continuing Education and the Division of Academic Cooperation, the Center of International Affairs of the Office of the Secretary also took charge of many international affairs. In 2008, the Office of International Affairs was founded, taking over the global affairs of the Division of International and Continuing Education and the Division of Academic Cooperation. In the same year, the Division of International and Continuing Education of the Office of Academic Affairs was renamed the Division of Continuing Education, and the Division of Academic Cooperation of the Office of Research and Development was abolished. In 2012, the Office of International Affairs(國際事務處) was renamed the Office of Global Affairs.(全球事務處)
