Exchange placements are assigned based on students' preference rankings. If your first preference is a highly competitive university (where the number of applicants equals or exceeds the available exchange quotas), it is recommended that you avoid listing other highly competitive universities as your second or subsequent preferences to reduce the risk of not being placed.
During the preference selection period, students may view in the online system the number of applicants who have selected each university as one of their top three preferences.
Once the online application and preference list are submitted, they cannot be changed.

臺灣教育部每月會提供一筆錢支持華語講師們在海外的生活，正式名稱為 「生活補助金」,不是「薪水」。此筆費用為實領，在臺灣與合作學校所在國家皆不扣稅，並由國立清華大學(後皆稱本校)於每月月底依華語講師當月到職天數比例計算，以新臺幣匯至指定合作銀行之帳戶。合作學校是否提供薪資因合作學校而異；若合作學校提供薪資，則須繳納合作學校所在國家之稅款。華語講師於合作學校所在國家之其它所得所衍生之相關稅務狀況，應依照當地稅法及法規之規範，並由華語講師自行負擔。
Taiwan's Ministry of Education provides a monthly stipend to support Mandarin Chinese language instructors' living expenses overseas. This stipend, officially called a "living allowance," is not a "salary." This allowance is received directly and is tax-free in both Taiwan and the host country. It is calculated by National Tsing Hua University (hereinafter referred to as the university) at the end of each month based on the number of days the instructor worked that month, and remitted in New Taiwan Dollars to a designated partner bank account. Whether the host university provides a salary varies depending on the university; if so, the instructor must pay the taxes of the host country. Any other income earned by the instructor in the host country is subject to local tax laws and regulations, and the instructor is solely responsible for its taxation.

Due to funding constraints imposed by the Ministry of Education, we are unable to provide information on Taiwan's labor insurance, health insurance, and retirement pension plans.
